A Stronger CORAF
One of the primary goals of the Partnership for Agricultural Research, Education, and Development in West Africa was to strengthen CORAF and make it a stellar instrument for regional coordination of agricultural research.
Following broad consultation with partners such as Ministries of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Rural Development, farmer organizations, agri-inputs producers and suppliers, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, women groups, regional and international partners, etc. CORAF produced an updated Strategic and Operational plan. Both documents were approved in November 2017 by CORAF’S Governing Board and in April 2018 at its General Assembly in Dakar.
With the new plans, CORAF is now on a new path. Its ability to stand current and future challenges will now depend on rigorous financial management and organizational efficiency. The new strategy also allows it to focus on providing high-quality, and demand-driven services to its core constituents.
