Recruitment of an individual consultant to lead the landscape analysis of the seed sector in West Africa

The FAO Sub-regional office of West Africa in collaboration with CORAF initiated the assessment of seed sector landscape in West Africa. This needs to carry out a diagnostic study within all seed stakeholders both at national and regional levels. The study intends to gather key data on seed sector status in west Africa covering critical areas such as the existing seed systems; variety development and adoption; seed production, supply, and affordability; quality assurance; past, present and foreseen performance; key national actors (roles, performances), access to seed index, constraints, emerging issues, proposed solutions, challenges and opportunities, seed companies/private seed sector, the ratio of seeds produced by private sector /national supply/crop types, seed cross-border trade, compliance with ECOWAS Seed Regulation, on-going national seed projects/programmes and funders, investments, innovations developed, etc.
The Executive Director of CORAF invites consultants to express their interest in providing the services described in the terms of reference below.
Prospective consultants must submit a written expression of interest that includes: (i) a letter of motivation and (ii) an updated and detailed curriculum vitae clearly showing, inter alia, the ability and professional experience to conduct the work.
The mission will be conducted over a period of 4 months starting in May 2022.
Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures defined in CORAF’s Administrative, Financial and Accounting Procedures Manual.
