From 17 to 19 December 2015 in Dakar, the members of the Governing Board of CORAF/WECARD met for the 20th ordinary meeting of their Body with the participation of partners of the Association.
Chaired by Dr. Alioune Fall, Chairman of the Governing Board of CORAF/WECARD, the meeting was an occasion of the Board members to examine the different items on the agenda of the session, assess the progress made by the Association since June 2015 at the 19th meeting of the Board and make recommendations to address the shortcomings and challenges noted in terms of governance, program management, resource mobilization and advocacy.
If the Governing Board considered satisfactory overall performance of the Executive Secretariat of CORAF/WAECARD during the past six months, there is a concern about the low mobilization of the resources for the Association as well as the weak ownership texts of the Association through its various organs. The Governing Board took decisions, made recommendations including those specific to the increase of financial resources of the Association to facilitate the implementation of the 2014-2018 Operational Plan.
The Governing Board also approved the work plan and budget for 2016 which amounts to $ 15,531,507, a decrease of approximately 24% compared to 2015.
The 21st Session will be held in May 2016 in Central Africa.
