The Sierra Leone Agricultural Research Institute (SLARI) falls under the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food Security. it is Sierra Leone’s principal agricultural research agency. SLARI’s mandate encompasses crops, livestock, forestry, fisheries, and socioeconomic research.

 

The government of Sierra Leone established the Sierra Leone Institute of Agricultural Research (SLARI) in 2007 by an Act of Parliament as a unique governmental institute of research on agricultural activities and technology generation for the benefit of agriculture, fisheries, and forestry in Sierra Leone.

 

The vision of SLARI is to increase food security and wealth by contributing to sustainable agricultural growth and effective agricultural research system.

Investments in agriculture will transform the lives of many people in rural areas…
