The West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development currently includes 22 member NARS from the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo.

It should be recalled that these countries account for more than 11.5 million square kilometres, with a population of over 318 million inhabitants, of whom 70% rely on agriculture
