THE NARS OF THE MONTH
IRAD is a public administrative institution with financial autonomy. It is placed under the technical supervision of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation and under the financial supervision of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. Its present organisation is characterized by a two-dimensional decentralized structure. On the one hand we have the Board of Administrators and the Head Office and the consultative organs and operational units on the other hand. Two organs manage IRAD: the Board of Administrators and the Head Office.
The operational research units constitute the lieu for the implementation and execution of scientific and technical activities of the institute. They are decentralised and regional units for agricultural research. Each unit’s operation is such that the chief of unit is assisted by appointed personnel of technical and management services. A chief of centre, who represents the Director General in his zone of competence, heads each centre.
