CORAF Multidonor trust Fund, CIDA enters. The Executive Secretariat has been informed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) of its actual entry into the multi-donor Fund (MDTF), which is used to finance the implementation of the CORAF Operational Plan for 2008-2013. CIDA provided financial contribution to the functioning of the MDTF and joins the European Union which has committed itself since 2010.
Ausaid-CSIRO-CORAF/WECARD partnership: the seed project launched in Bamako. From 28 to 31 March 2011 in Bamako, actors and partners of the partnership Ausaid-CSIRO-CORAF/WECARD gathered for the launch and planning activities of the seed project will be implemented in four countries: Mali, Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Ghana. The participants had a common understanding of objectives and deliverables of the project they have planned activities on the project and they have been sensitized on the techniques of reporting and monitoring and evaluation.
WAAPP / PPAAO: regional training workshop on environmental and social safeguards. From 7 to 11 March 2011 in Dakar, took place a training workshop on environmental and social safeguards in the WAAPP/PPAAO. The environmental and social focal points of the 13 countries involved in WAAPP/PPAAO were sensitized on the World Bank policies on environmental and social issues. The environmental and social WAAPP/PPAAO issues have been understood by the focal points and the Action Plan for monitoring and implementation of ESMF and PGPN was developed.

WAAPP / PPAAO: synthesis of the supervision missions. 9 and 10 March in Dakar, actors and partners of WAAPP / PPAAO 1a and 1b countries met to synthesize the supervision missions done in 5 of the 6 countries already implementing the Programme. Presentations on the review of activities in 2010 and 2011 program activities were made for Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Burkina Faso and Nigeria as well as regional coordination activities provided by the CORAF . Overall, it appears that activities are going well in countries and at regional level but efforts must be made with respect to the mobility of researchers and the dissemination of existing technologies.
Partnership CORAF-CSIRO / AUSAID: official signing of the agreement. On January 28, 2011 in Dakar, CORAF/WECARD and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) on behalf of the Australian Agency for International Development (AUSAID) have formalized their partnership through signing a term agreement for 4 years which aims to help improve livelihoods of populations in West and Central Africa within the framework of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development in Africa (CAADP).
PPAAO / WAAPP: technical discussions with WAAPP 1c countries in Washington. Country representatives for WAAPP 1c met from 24 to 28 January 2011 in Washington for technical discussions and negotiations with the World Bank as part of their funding for the implementation of the Programme. After 3 days of discussions, the PAD has been reviewed with inputs from various delegations and CORAF/WECARD and the overall funding for WAAPP 1C is 83.9 million dollars by the World Bank and 17 million by Japan.
