Award: Dr. Paco Sérémé, Executive Director of CORAF/WECARD, was honored November 10, 2010, in the rank of Chevalier of the International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA) of African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES)
On the occasion of the presentation of awards to winners of the 15th “Concours d'Agrégation” for Human Medicine, Pharmacy and Odonto-stomatology, veterinary medicine and animal production, CAMES has also organized on 10th November 2010 in Lomé, a ceremony of Distinction of eminent scientists in the International Order of Academic Palms. It is a dozen prominent scientists from Togo, Burkina Faso, Niger, Belgium and France who have been selected by the Council of Ministers of CAMES thanks to their outstanding contribution to the development of science both at national and international levels. Among these personalities, there is Dr. Paco Sérémé, Plant Pathologist, Director of Research at the Institute of Environment and Agricultural Research (INERA) of Burkina Faso and Executive Director of CORAF/WECARD. Through this award, it is the recognition for work well done and especially the significant contribution to the development of science in Burkina Faso as well as internationally by the highest instance of Higher Education, the CAMS. Regionally, this distinction is the result of strengthening relations between CORAF/WECARD and academic institutions that remain key players in the national agricultural research systems of CORAF/WECARD zones.
