A former Executive Secretary of the West and Central Africa Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF), Dr. Ndiaga Mbaye has died after a brief illness.
Dr. Mbaye who managed CORAF from 1990 to 2003 died on Saturday, January 5, 2018, in Dakar, Senegal.
The Senegalese-born researcher will be remembered for his work in advancing research and development in Africa and leading several critical food security development projects in West Africa.
Dr. Mbaye’s death leaves a big vacuum in the CORAF family and the scientific community in Senegal, Africa, and the world at large.
Dr. Mbaye was a veterinary doctor, nutritionist, and a former researcher at Senegalese Research Institute (ISRA).
CORAF’s Executive Director, Dr. Abdou Tenkouano extends his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends.
