21st session of the Governing Board: the vision of the Executive Director approved

The members of CORAF/WECARD Governing Board met from 22 to 24 June 2016 for the 21st regular session of their body in Dakar, under the chairmanship of Dr Alioune Fall, Chairman of the Governing Board. They reviewed, discussed and approved the dossiers submitted to them on the financial aspects, on the results of programs and projects and on issues related to the governance of CORAF/WECARD. They made concrete proposals to help CORAF/WECARD align its strategy and take into account the major regional and international reforms in agriculture initiated by the Comprehensive African Agriculture Development Program (CAADP), AfDB, the European Union…

At that session, Dr. Abdou Tenkouano, the Executive Director who was attending his first meeting of the Governing Board, shared his vision on the management and operation of CORAF/WECARD. This vision is divided into three areas: stabilization, reorganization and reconstruction with priority actions for the short, medium and long terms based on the involvement of all CORAF/WECARD stakeholders and a strategy of innovative partnership.

This vision was approved by the board members who promised support the Executive Director in these reforms that will modernize CORAF/WECARD.
